THIRTEEN DAYS
Washington D.C., October 1962. In the midst of a mid-term Congressional election campaign, an unanticipated foreign policy crisis engulfs the Kennedy White House. High-flying surveillance photos depict nuclear missile construction sites on the island of Cuba, 90 miles off the Florida coast. For thirteen days, the White House, and ultimately the world, watch as the most extreme confrontation of the nuclear age escalates and the White House grapples with the crisis. THIRTEEN DAYS focuses on President Kennedy (Bruce Greenwood), Attorney General Robert Kennedy (Stephen Culp) and Kennedy’s Chief of Staff, Kenny O’Donnell (Kevin Costner), as these young men attempt to defuse a crisis that could launch the world’s superpowers into full-scale nuclear war. The film is directed by Roger Donaldson (DANTE’S PEAK, DEAD CALM, NO WAY OUT).
